Join H&Y Fence as a welder, contributing to high-quality fencing projects with your skilled craftsmanship in Sarasota Florida.

Job Responsibilities:

• Read drawing: The Welder will often need to interpret and work from drawings to understand the specifications of the project.
• Selecting Materials: Welders must choose the appropriate materials for the job, considering factors such as metal type, thickness, and the specific welding process. You will be working with galvanized chain link fencing and aluminum.
• Preparing Materials: This involves cleaning, cutting, and shaping the metal pieces before welding. Our Welder will be responsible for cutting and notching pipes. Proper preparation is crucial for a strong and durable weld.
• Welding Techniques: Welders use various techniques such as arc welding, MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, and others, depending on the requirements of the project. The welding machine we use is a Miller Matic 252
• Quality Control: Ensuring the quality of the welds is essential. Welders must inspect their work for defects, such as cracks or weak spots, and make any necessary repairs.
• Safety: Following safety procedures and using protective gear (such as helmets, gloves, and goggles) is crucial to prevent injuries and ensure a safe working environment.

When welding is slow you will be required to do other duties to support the shop.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in various welding techniques and the ability to operate welding equipment are essential. Knowledge of metallurgy and understanding different types of metals is also valuable.
• Physical Fitness: Welders often work in physically demanding conditions, requiring strength, stamina, and manual dexterity.
• Dependability: We are looking for a Welder who possesses the qualities of being reliable, consistent, trustworthy, and consistently meeting expectations.
